Carl N. Renner, '48, passed away on November 1, 2013 in Harbor Creek, Pennsylvania.

Carl N. Renner, age 82, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at his residence in Harborcreek Township. He was born in Erie November 14, 1930, son of the late Nicholas A. and Katherine Buhl Renner.
 
He is survived by his life-long love, Wilma Hanson Renner; his children: Susan Bartlett and her husband, Paul of North East, Pa., Carl A. Renner and his wife, Mary of Erie, Michael Renner and his wife, Renee of Harrisburg, Pa., and James N. Renner and his wife, Katrina of Millcreek Twp., Pa. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, William Renner and his wife, Carol of Belle Valley; and three sisters: Sue (Elizabeth) Kubeja of Girard, Pa., Marion Torrance and her husband, Herb, Jr. of Girard, Pa., and Shirley Renner of Harborcreek Twp. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and John Renner.
 
Carl was a graduate of Boystown and then worked on great-lakes freighters. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. After the war, Carl worked as a machinist at Riley Stoker, retiring in 1992. He was a past president of the local boiler makers union. He was a member of the Knights of Plythias. Carl enjoyed fishing and was an avid "card shark". He also enjoyed all sporting events.
