Burke High School.  John was raised with a close relationship with his father, Paul C. As an officer of the Tri-Mutual Aid Fire Fighters Association, John has worked closely with twenty-eight Fire and Rescue Departments in Nebraska and Iowa.  John has received numerous awards for his dedication and service, earning the highest respect and reputation of a man who responds to every call for help and leads the fire/safety community with knowledge and insight, comparable to none.

John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon (Lee) Sing; children, Jamie McCarty (Todd) and Jason Sing (Tymaree); and his grandchildren: Daniel, Colton, Caleb, Simone, Isabel, Iyla and Londyn.

John’s wisdom, grace and leadership will be missed by all who have worked with him, who have fought fires and provided first response to patients alongside him, and most of all, by his friends and family who have loved him for the good person he was.  In John’s presence you feel safe and confident, and the reflection of his legacy will continue to be felt by all those who have known him.
