Daniel W. Kent, '49, passed away on February 16, 2019 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Lifetime Member.

With great sorrow the family of Daniel W. Kent announce his passing on Friday Febuary 8th, 2019.

Born in Cadillac, Michigan during the great depression, and with little parenting, Dan was fortunate to end up at Father Flanagan's Boys Town in Omaha Nebraska. It was 1942 and he was all of 12 years old. He met Helen Hough in Omaha and after graduation in 1949, marriage in 1951, and a stint in the Navy during the Korean conflict they settled in Ann Arbor. Dan worked for Edwards Brothers for 42 years retiring in 1992. While employed at EB Dan researched, wrote, and actually printed his renowned book on WWII Military Ammunition, selling to historians around the world.

He is survived by Helen his wife of 67 years, and children Valerie (Walter) Tomion , Jeffrey (Kelly) Kent, and Kimberly Kent. Son Mark died tragically in 1976. There are also 3 grand children and 2 great grand kids.

Dan will be remembered by family, friends and coworkers for his story telling, mostly of the antics during his years at Boys Town and in the Navy. A private service to be held for the family.
