David J. Blackburn, D'46, passed away on May 12, 2019 in St. Charles, Missouri.

David J. Blackburn, age 90, of St. Charles, MO asleep in Jesus on Sunday, May 12, 2019. David was born on May 19, 1928 in Loris, South Carolina. He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.
 
Loving father to his daughters, who he called his sons, Mary (Kevin) Mulvany, Joan Blackburn, Barbara Blackburn (David Beckering), Dolores (Tom) Fumagalli. Preceded in death by his mother, the late Sabina Lynch. He is the proud grandfather of Patrick Mulvany, David (Krissy) Mulvany, Blake Mulvany, Caitlin Mulvany, Olivia (Matt Mayo-Beckerman) Bishop, Bobby Bishop, Joe (Krista) Bishop, John Bishop, Sarah Fumagalli, Carmen Fumagalli and the late Sarah Rose Bishop; and the proud great-grandfather of Finley Rose Mulvany. David was lucky in love two times, marrying Carolyn J. (Callison) Blackburn in 1957, and Jane (Vogt) Blackburn in 1996. He was preceded in death by both of his wives and brothers, Robert, Joseph and Francis.
 
David was a Brother at the Benedictine Monastery in Atchison, Kansas, a Korean War Veteran, and a graduate of the University of Missouri (Mizzou) with a degree in Accounting. He was also employed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for 33 years. David loved the outdoors, traveling, fishing, dancing, spending time with others and saying hello to everyone that crossed his path.
 
David will be remembered for his friendliness, kindness, generosity toward others, and love for life. In memory of David, always remember to: “Keep Smiling.”
