Roger Dean Lambert, '68, passed away on September 26, 2016 in Kankakee, Illinois. 

Roger Dean Lambert, age 68, of Kankakee, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at his home surrounded by family and loved ones.
Roger was born July 27, 1948 in Kankakee to the late Romain and Kathryn Duffield Lambert. He married Peggy Williams on September 17, 1994. She survives in Kankakee. Roger proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Kankakee VFW and the Kankakee American Legion. Roger enjoyed camping, fishing, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandkids.

Roger was employed by Shapiro Developmental Center for 20 years. He then moved to the southern part of Illinois and was employed by Illinois Department of Transportation as a Highway Maintainer for 10 years. He retired in 2007.

Roger is survived by his wife, Peggy, his son, Tom Lambert of Champaign, IL; his daughter, Monica Gero of Bradley, IL; his stepsons Jeff (Dana) Weidner of Kankakee; Dr. Dan (Mike) Weidner of Milwaukee, WI; and Steve Jr. (Sarah) Weidner of Bradley, IL. Other survivors include six sisters; Shirley (Juan) Connors of Bourbonnais, IL; Jeannie Grob of Winter Haven, FL; Annie Overton of Jacksonville, IL; Audrey Truesdell of Jacksonville, IL; Judy Grob of Peoria, AZ; and Mary (Dale) Lietz of Grant Park, IL; three brothers, Arthur (Nancy) Lambert of East Prairie, MO; Gerald Levesque of Aroma Park, IL; and Robert Duffield of St. Anne, IL. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Mark, Zack, Brittany, Kaitlynee, Angel, Austin, Nate, Jaycob, Brison, and Canton; two great grandchildren; Rylan and Amelia.

Burial followed at Mound Grove Gardens Cemetery in Kankakee, IL.
