Boyd H. Fulmer (a.k.a. Papa), 82, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, April 17, at Bryan East. Born and raised in Lincoln to Lillian Ellis and Howard Fulmer, he was the eldest son of 12 children. Boyd was a proud graduate of Boys Town, class of 1955. He went on to serve on the Lincoln Fire Department for 35 years, retiring as a captain. He also enjoyed his love of the outdoors by working as a part-time groundskeeper at the Country Club of Lincoln for 45 years.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a proud father, grandfather, husband, brother and uncle. Boyd enjoyed traveling, being in the mountains or near a beach, the Huskers and Royals and most of all spending time with his family. He was hardworking, fun-loving and had a wonderful sense of humor which he passed on to his wife and kids.
 
Boyd is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jan, and his three children Tony, Becky and Jody, (son-in-law, Tom Jochen). He also leaves behind two beloved and spoiled grandkids, Chloe and Carson, along with their family dog Stella Mae. Other surviving siblings include: Connie Ameri, Bonnie Zimmerman, Dorothy Jayne Moxley, Mickey and Billy Fulmer. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ollie and Larry Fulmer and sisters Carol Walker, Sally Brunner and Judy Wedo.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 22, at First United Methodist Church, 2723 N. 50th Street, with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, please make your memorial to First United Methodist Church. Condolences may be left at www.bmlfh.com.
