Raoul Carlos Garcia, Sr. was born April 23, 1954 to Armando (Al) and Harriet Vera Garcia, who both preceded him in death. He departed this life on Monday, July 23, 2018 in his home, at the age of sixty-four years and three months.

Raoul was baptized into the Catholic faith as an infant and spent much of his early childhood at Redemptorist (Our Lady of Perpetual Help) Church in Kansas City, Missouri where he also attended grade school. Later, he moved to Fr. Flanagan’s Boys Town and became a brother to all those who were there before and after him.

In 1974, he married Cynthia Cowles. Together, they welcomed a son. Though their marriage didn’t last, the love they shared for their son allowed them to remain as close friends throughout Raoul’s life.

In 1999, his life changed forever when he met Christi Eidson. They were married February 28, 2004 and together welcomed two daughters.

Raoul had strayed from his faith in his early adult years. He found his way home to the Catholic Church in 2013, bringing along his wife and children who were baptized and confirmed into the faith as well. He was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Camdenton, where he was part of an amazing church family.

He had several career changes in his life. He worked in construction, welding, and stocking to name a few - but his favorite work was as a firefighter and EMT with both Gravois and Sunrise Beach Fire Protection Districts.

Raoul is survived by his wife Christi; two daughters Tacha and Lisa (Isi) Garcia; one son Raoul Jr. and wife Becky of Raytown, Missouri; one brother John Garcia and wife Ann of Oregon House, California; three sisters, Olivia Andrews and husband Ron of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Victoria Jolley and husband David of Los Alamos, New Mexico, and Maria Gardunio of Salt Lake City, Utah; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family, and many Boys Town brothers. He is also survived by his loyal pup Scout of the home and grandpups Tyrion and Arya of Raytown, MO.

Raoul was a loving husband, dad, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered by all who love him as a man of strength, faith, and love.
