Eugene Allen Outlaw (April 10th, 1926 -- June 20th, 2018), passed away peacefully Wednesday evening in Tucson, Arizona. The son of Thomas Orbin Outlaw and Dawn Lois Wilson, he was born in Wagon Wheel Gap, CO. His parents lived and operated the train station where he was born. Gene moved to northern Arkansas during the Great Depression.

At the age of 14 he was sent to Boys Town, Nebraska. After graduating Boys Town, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. He then moved to Denver Colorado where he met his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce Eleanor Myers. They started their family in Denver and soon after they moved to Southern California. He was an active scout master in the Boy Scouts and coached sports with his kids.

Gene began his career in surveying, then supervising for the Bechtel Corporation. In 1966 & 1970 he was one of the first persons on-site, to start construction of the Mohave & Navajo Generating Stations. Gene took pride in being one of the founding fathers of Page Elks Lodge #2498 (2nd Exalted Ruler), where he continued to be an active member for 46 years.

Following his retirement in 1984, Gene and Joyce found joy in traveling across the country in their fifth-wheel, and spent many wonderful summers in Priest Gulch, CO. Gene was enjoyed by all. He was the family story-teller. We spent many evenings listening to tales of his numerous life experiences and adventures.
