Ronald Jerome White, '66, passed away on February 28, 2018 in Omaha, Nebraska.
A memorial service for Ron White, who was All-Nebraska in 1966 in the second of Boys Town’s back-to-back Class A boys basketball championship seasons, was held at Boys Town on March 17, 2018

White, who died Feb. 28 at 70, was named to the Nebraska Black Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. He was slated to be inducted into the Boys Town Alumni Sports Hall of Fame on May 1, 2018 at the annual Boys Town Booster Banquet. His daughter La Shawnda White-Posey will accept his induction plaque.
A Scholastic Magazine all-star as a senior, the lefty scored 1,306 points in his four years at Boys Town and was among the first recruits for now-closed Pershing College in Beatrice. White was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey, and daughter La Shawnda White-Posey, both of Omaha.
