Robert, age 59, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009, at his home in Newton.
 

Survivors are wife, Virginia Buckler of Newton; sons, Mike Buckler of Utica, IL, and Andy Buckler of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Robin Buckler of Newton; grandchildren, Hanna Young and Brandon Buckler; and many brothers and sisters.
 

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
 

He was born on April 2, 1949, in LaPlata, MD to Andrew and Edna (Robey) Buckler. He served his country in the Marines Corp during Vietnam. He married Virginia L. Buckler on September 12, 1969, in Bellevue, NE. Robert lived in Baxter for 30 years prior to moving to Newton for the last seven years.
 

Robert worked for Mid States Ford as an Outside Parts Salesman for 24 years. He later worked for Sioux City Truck Sales (Peterbilt) as an Outside Sales Coordinator for three years.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, at Newton Union Cemetery. The family greeted friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.
