Patrick Michael McCauley, 72, of Waco passed away on April 24, 2017, in Mansfield, Texas. A Memorial Service was held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco.
Patrick was born May 23, 1944, to Hugh and Eileen {Smith} McCauley in Joliet, Illinois. After graduating from Boys Town High School in Omaha, Nebraska, he served three years in the United States Army, most of the time served at Fort Hood, Texas.
Patrick worked at A. 0. Smith, Bellmead, Texas, and 30 plus years as a diesel mechanic for Darr Equipment/Holt Caterpillar of Waco, before retiring in 2002.
Patrick enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and neighborhood friends, as well as working in his tool shop, and he really looked forward to visiting with his "second family" at Harbor Freight on an almost daily basis.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Eileen McCauley; and two brothers, Hugh McCauley, Jr., and Tom McCauley.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Wetzel McCauley; one son, Michael McCauley; three grandchildren, Marcus McCauley, Elana McCauley, and Shereca Russell; great-grandchildren, McKenzie McCauley, Jace McCauley, and Aria McCauley; and one brother, Jim McCauley of Lockport, Illinois.
