Walk from the German American Home to Boys Town

v01-03-1918f10hgermanamerhome-grayscaleJoin Boys Town staff and fellow alumni to commemorate the move to Overlook Farm.

A four and one half (4 1/2) hour walk is planned from the German American Home at 4205 South 13th Street in Omaha to Boys Town.  You can walk this as an individual or as a team.  The walk will start at 8:00 a.m. and planned to arrive at Dowd Chapel in time for the 11:40 a.m. mass where Father Steven Boes, National Executive Director, will celebrate mass in honor of Boys Town's founding.  A wreath will be placed by two alumni at Servant of God, Father Flanagan's tomb to honor his vision and Boys Town's 100 years of helping children and families.

This will be a fun walk and will tie Boys Town's past to its future.    We hope to see you at the German American Home (now the Catholic Sokol Bingo Hall) to follow the path of our Boys Town brothers who, in 1921, walked to Overlook Farm to begin the journey that is today Boys Town!

Email the Alumni Office at alumni@boystown.org or call 402-498-1151 to let us know if you are planning to join the walk.

(In the event of inclement weather the walk will be cancelled.)
