He is loved by his in-laws, as a son and brother, and leaves behind his father and mother-in-law, Wesley and Doris Cronk, of Aberdeen, Washington; his sister-in-law, Teresa Cronk of Hoquiam; his brother-in-law and wife, Robert and Mary Cronk of Puyallup, Washigton as well as several much loved nieces and nephews and numerous friends, David considered family. David was preceded in death by his mother, Donna (Starr) DuPont.

David was born on August 1, 1958, in San Diego, California. He graduated from Boys Town, Omaha, Nebraska in 1975. There he became a skilled printer. He moved to the Grays Harbor area in 1976 where he met and married the love of his life, Sandi, on June 30, 1979, in Hoquiam. The couple welcomed two children, Kyle and Danielle, into their lives. David quickly became an involved and very loving parent.

In 1976 he began working in the logging industry. His career included working for G.T. Anderson, Sholes Logging, T.J. Spradlin, and Schaben Logging. In 1995 David started Double D Logging that he owned and operated at the time of his passing.

He always thought of others before himself. He was a very generous, witty and dedicated man who cherished his family and friends above all. He was known by several nicknames such as Dewey, D, Double D, Old Growth, Silverback, Uncle Duper and others we should not print! David loved being involved with any community activity to benefit children. His favorite hobbies, besides loving his beautiful wife and children, were fishing, hunting and helping others.

David was a member of Hoquiam Elks Lodge #1082 and VFW. In 2011 he was proud to be nominated and selected to serve as the chairman for the Hoquiam Loggers Playday.

David was a great man with gorgeous eyes, an infectious smile and endless charm. If you met him, you will never forget him.
