outstanding-young-alumni-daniel-fry-2015Daniel Fry arrived at Boys Town in the winter of 2003 as a freshman in high school.  His journey from Overland Park, Kansas to Boys Town was a result of his need for alternative schooling, counseling and discipline.

During the summer after leaving Boys Town, Fry began working with Fry-Wagner Moving and Storage prior to enrolling as a student at the University of Kansas.  He spent his first year in college studying abroad and returned to Kansas to work on his degree in communications.  Every summer he worked his way through a variety of jobs with Fry-Wagner at several of their Midwest locations.  He eventually moved up to become an assistant to the Director of Operations for the company. He now works in sales and has been taking on a role in the Business Development Department in his ninth year with the company.

As a member of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and the Overland Park Rotary Club, Fry was reelected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Star Spangled Spectacular—one of the largest community events within the city of Overland Park.  The event brings together an estimated 100,000 people and raises over $100,000 for local charities.  He was named by the Kansas City Business Magazine as one of 40 Rising Stars for people under the age of 40 for the year 2015.

Fry is a Lifetime Member of the Boys Town National Alumni Association and is the inaugural recipient of this award.
