Betty Critchley, Wife of Marty Critchley, '78, passed away on June 25, 2025, in Janesville, Wisconsin.
Betty Ballmer Anderson Critchley, age 86, of Janesville, passed away June 25th, 2025, at Oak Park Place in Janesville, WI. She was born in Center Township on February 11, 1939, to the late Martin and Elsie (Gerber) Ballmer. She married Clifford Anderson and he preceded in death on November 1st 1997. She then was united in marriage to Marty Critchley on December 12, 2003, in Nashville, TN. Betty worked for over 30 years for various financial institutions. Betty loved to travel throughout the 50 states and Canada. She and Marty operated their own travel company, Majesty Tours. Other than traveling, she supported and attended the Rock Aqua Jay Ski Team. Betty volunteered for the R.S.V.P office, Rock Haven snack shop. She met Marty while going on Van Galder Bus Companies Tours always requesting Marty to drive the Motorcoach, Betty always sat in the front seat and the rest is history! Then getting married in December 2003 after starting their own company, Majesty Tours.
Betty is survived by her husband Marty; 4 nieces: Cheryl (Gregg) Vosswinkel, Lynn (Paul) Basler, Diane (John Chudy) Ryan, and Joan (Tom) Dollak; 8 great-nieces and nephews: Emilie (Bill) Thompson, Gerhard (Megan) Vosswinkel, Matthew Basler, Adam (Brittney) Basler, Lindsey (Patrick Schendel) Ryan, Jacob Ryan, Kayla (Michael) Rosquist, and Ryan (Kaelyn) Dollak; and 5 great-great nieces and nephews: Leila Thompson, Heidi Vosswinkel, Zoee Basler, Logan Basler, and Jameson Rosquist. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clifford G. Anderson; two sisters, Doris Ryan and Myrtle Ballmer; and brother-in-law, Vincent Ryan.
A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2921 Mt. Zion Ave. A Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, 21 S. Austin Rd. There was an additional Visitation on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM at ST MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH until the time of service. Memorial donations can be made in Betty’s name to either The Rock Aqua Jays, the Boys Town National Scholarship Fund or St. Mark Lutheran Church.
