William (Bill) Arthur Daley, 87, died Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama in Columbus, Georgia.

Bill was born July 13, 1937, in Eureka, CA. In August 1948 he moved to Boys Town outside of Omaha in Douglas County, NE. During his time at Boys Town Bill was active in scouting, various school activities and sports. Wrestling is where he excelled and in 1955 he was the Nebraska State Champion in the 133 pound weight class. Upon his graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for 24 years, from 1955 to 1979. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. Shortly after enlisting into the Air Force, Bill met his wife Pauline. They were married in St. Clair County Illinois in May 1956. As they started to raise their family, the US Air Force stationed them in several places in the US, Europe and Asia. William was a Veteran of the Vietnam war. 
He was involved in the Boy Scouts of America from his days at Boy Town and earned the honor of Eagle Scout. During his time in the military he’s continued his involvement as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts. Post retirement from military service he started his second career with the scouts as a District Executive. He worked for the Boy Scouts of America from 1979 to 1997. He served the scouts as a District Executive in Tacoma WA before he assumed the same role with a move to Anchorage AK in 1984. He retired from the organization in1997. After retirement he and Pauline moved to Soldotna, AK to enjoy a simple lifestyle along the Kenai river.
He loved the outdoors, camping and fishing. Bill and Pauline traveled extensively in their RV to almost all 50 states. His sense of adventure was always there. He spent winters in Surprise, AZ from 2005 to 2023. In 2023 he moved to Columbus, GA. 
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Daley and Daisy Smith; brothers Robert and James Daley; and his wife of 63 years Pauline Daley.

He is survived by his sons, Daniel Daley of Roy, WA and Dale Daley of Columbus, GA; daughters, Dawn (Mark) Hilliker of Kirkland, WA and Denise (Andy) Nyren of Soldotna, AK; Sisters, Patricia (Paul) Jarvis of Ada, Oklahoma and Catherine Adams of Seminole, OK.

Bill enjoyed the love and admiration of 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held later at Fort Richardson National Cemetery in Anchorage, Alaska.
