He was born in Philipsburg, son of the late Erdene Frances (Bonsell) Dick.
 

He is survived by his longtime partner, Shirley (Sis) Bogel; maternal siblings: Ernie Dick (Rita), Bob Kauffman (Louise) and Barry Kauffman (Rosalynne); paternal surviving siblings: Charles Miller (Patricia), Melvin Miller (Arlene), Barb Wenner, Thelma Wilson (John) and Dorothy Leeper (Norman); his children, Westley Dick (Maureen Lee) and Kelly Moffit (Mike); grandchildren: Silas Dick, Brandon Rearick, Karlie McCoy, Talan Shiffler, Kody Moffit and Kory Moffit; and several nieces and nephews.
 

He was a 1971 graduate of Boys Town Nebraska. Over the years, Dean was employed at Woodcraft Industries, PGW Auto Glass and Seabrook Blanching.
 

He loved to hunt, fish, go to Golden Eagle Football games and watch the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State Nittany Lions and Pittsburgh Pirate baseball games. He liked to sit on the porch with a cup of coffee and was especially excited to see his grandchildren.
 

Friends will be received from noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Pastor Ken Patterson officiating.
