David Eduardo Rivera, '64

obit_davis_rivera_600x800David Eduardo Rivera, '64, died on December 25, 2012 in Kansas City, Missouri.  Lifetime Member.

David E. Rivera, 66, of KCMO passed away on 12-25-2012 at his home.  He served in the USMC and was a Vietnam Veteran. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine and Manuel Barrera Jr.; father, Eduardo Rivera; his brothers, Tony Rivera and Vito Barrera. 

David is survived by his wife of 30 years, Teresa, and his children, Regina Rivera and spouse Tim Sasseen, Edie Rivera, Sean Torres, Chanel Rivera, Stephen Torres (Brenda), Elysia Marcus (David); nine grandchildren and one on the way; one great grandson; brothers, Larry Barrera and (Matt) Eddie Barrera (Kim); sisters, Jeannie Curley (Larry) and Cindy Ramos (Joe); his compadres Jimmy, Frank, Joe and Victor.

David graduated from Boys Town of Nebraska and retired as a locomotive machinist for BNSF after 38 years.  David was a friend of Bill W. for 28 years.  He was a devoted husband and father, and was a very devout Christian who walked with Christ on a daily basis.  David touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral service was at 10:00 AM Saturday December 29, 2012 at Holy Cross Church.  Burial at St. Mary's cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to Boys Town of Nebraska.
