Stephen Michael Noggle, '64

obit_stephen_noggle_600x800Stephen Michael Noggle, '64, was killed in action on June 17, 1967 in the Republic of South Vietnam.

The funeral for PFC. Stephen M. Noggle, 20, who was killed Saturday in hostile action in South Vietnam, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  The Rev. Kenneth Krahn will officiate.

Pfc. Noggle entered the service July 5, 1966, and was sent to Vietnam Dec. 31. 1966.  He was killed during a combat operation.
 
He had been awarded the Purple Heart and a combat medical badge after being wounded Feb. 14.  He had returned to service in Aril.  He had been serving in the Field Medical Division of the U.S. Army.

Prior to his service, he was employed at St. Barnabas Hospital in Minneapolis and was a student at the University of Minnesota.  His residence prior to going into service was at 3128 Atwood Drive, Minnetonka, Minn.

Pfc. Noggle was born Dec. 2, 1946, in Minneapolis, son of Ivan and Catherine (Foely) Noggle.  He was married to Sue Seeberger, Sept. 10, 1966, in Minneapolis.

Surviving are his wife, Sue, Mason City; a brother, Stanley, Omaha; two sisters, Mary and Sharon Noggle, Minneapolis.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Complete military rites will be given at Memorial Park Cemetery.  At the services at the church, Gordon Schaper will be the vocalist, Mrs. John Otten organist.

Visitation at the McAuley-Bremer Chapel will be from 2 p.m. Saturday until 9 p.m. Sunday.  The family prefers thatany memorials be give to Boys Town, Neb., where he attended school, or to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
