Lawrence Richard Karlow, 76, of Bumpass, passed away on April 12, 2022 in Richmond.
Lawrence was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Stanley Sigmond and Mary Raffael Karlow on November 21, 1945. He married Terrylee Ann Jovanelly on March 31, 1967 in Los Angeles, California. Lawrence worked as a Master Welder for 30 years and retired from Caterpillar Equipment in 2011.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, sister Carolyn Lee Prichard and his brother Robert Paul Karlow.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Terrylee Ann Karlow; his children, Melissa Marie McCurdy, Cynthia Ann Karlow, Ann Marie Lee Karlow and son-in-law, Joseph Michael Purkiss; his grandchildren, Maeha Angeline Karlow, Devin Robert McCurdy and Dylan Lawrence McCurdy; and his sibling Stanley Robert Karlow. Lawrence had many nieces and nephews as well.
Lawrence worked hard all of his life and provided for his family throughout his life as a husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bird watching, building, tinkering with things and spending time with his family. Lawrence had a love for music and for all living creatures which he passed down to his children and grandchildren. He taught his children to be self-sufficient and always carry a strong work ethic.
