Donovan D. Robb, D'51

obit_donovan_robb_600x800Donovan D. Robb, D'51, passed away on March 16, 2023 in Mankato, Minnesota.

Donavan age 88 passed away March 16th at home with family by his side, After a long battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held on March 24th at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 622 S. Broad St Mankato. Father John Kunz officiating. The family will meet and greet family & friends at the church on Friday at 10 am, with the service to follow at 11am. Donavan donated his body to science at Mayo clinic in Rochester MN.

Donavan was born on October 10th 1934 to William and Bernadine (Oglesby) Robb. He is survived by his wife Carie of 67yrs, 6 children; Theresa Robb, Debra Wingate, David (Carol) Robb, Bernadine Sila, Daniel Robb, Craig (Teri) Robb. 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandsons.  His sister Carol (John) Benkovich of AK, Nieces, nephews, and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his Father, mother, stepmother, sister Janet (Ed) Nelson, brother Frederick Robb.

Donavan served as a Korean War Navy Veteran; He & Carie are members of the 518 American Legion, Don attended the National Fire Academy.  He worked as a Mankato Firefighter for 20yrs retiring as a Captain. Don & Carie were entrepreneurs owning El Seis Restaurant in Mankato & two others, also Puff Dump Trucking. He worked as a truck driver for Seykora Construction of Mankato, Lange Construction of Waite Park, and drove for any family or friend who needed him. Don also volunteered for VINE.

Don enjoyed golfing with his sons, fishing with family & friends, playing cards especially Cribbage, walking his dog at Land of Memories park with friends, and Reading books.

A special Thank you to the staff & nurses at Ecumen Hospice, Also his HHA/PCA, Angel Coopman with International Quality Homecare whom he lovingly adopted as his granddaughter.
