Keynote Speaker

Our keynote speaker for this year's banquet is Dr. Bob Pick, retired Executive Vice President for Youth Care.  Bob and his wife Ann started at Boys Town as family-teachers in 1979 and held many different positions prior to retiring after 40 years in 2020.  He committed the bulk of his adult life to caring for our brothers and sisters.  Dr. Pick has been selected to be the Honorary National President of the BTNAA for the next two years.

Father Flanagan Distinguished Alumnus Award -

ed-brady-1Colin "Ed" Brady, '60

Ed Brady has long distinguished himself in the service of others throughout his life and professional career.  He has served on Boys Town's Board of Trustees, the Board of the Father Flanagan League Society of Devotion in support of the cause for canonization of our beloved founder, on the board of Girls and Boys Town of Missouri.  Ed is a Lifetime Member of the Boys Town National Alumni Association.

The President's Award

The President's Award is given to recognize an alumnus who has supported the Alumni Association quietly and without fanfare.  This year's recipient is Ramon Esparaza.  Ramon has shown his love for the Association by quietly supporting lifetime memberships for deserving alumni and for his long and loyal support he is being recognized.  Ramon is a Lifetime Member of the Boys Town National Alumni Association.

The Hall of History Induction

Ronnie Langford is an attorney with offices in Des Moines, Iowa and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He practices criminal defense law and was recognized by the National Trial Lawyers Association as one of the top 100 criminal defense attorney's in 2018.  Ronnie is a regular attendee at alumni reunions and is a Lifetime Member of the Boys Town National Alumni Association.

rodney-whitehallRodney Whitehall, '72

Rodney Whitehall is a technology support specialist with the City of Lincoln, Nebraska.  He received a degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earned associate degrees in computer programming and business management and worked as a computer programmer for the State of Nebraska for many years.  He is a Lifetime Member of the Boys Town National Alumni Association.

barney-hillBarney Hill, '73

Barney Hill, a track legend at Boys Town and beyond, had a 25 year career with the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) that saw him rise from a position as a steamfitter and welder to supervisor manager.  After retiring from OPPD Barney opened his own home inspection business where he was licensed in Nebraska and Iowa.  Barney is a Lifetime Member of the Boys Town National Alumni Association.

Steve Wolf studied journalism at Boys Town and pursued that career after graduation.  He held positions as a reporter and has founded his own public relations companies.  He served in the U.S. Army National Guard, retiring as a Sergeant Major.  Steve is the President of the Father Flanagan League Society of Devotion Board of Directors and is a Lifetime Member of the Boys Town National Alumni Association.

Alumni Service Award

Raul Parra has long supported the Alumni Association as a board member, reunion attendee and has for many years provided the BTNAA themed gifts for our Welcome Bags.  Whenever Raul is asked to help, he is ready and willing.  As President of the California Chapter of the BTNAA he has kept contact with our older alumni so they are not forgotten.  He is a Lifetime Member of the Boys Town National Alumni Association.

phil-dauterivePhil Dauterive, D'70

Phil Dauterive served two terms as President of the Alumni Association and is completing his term as Vice President this year.  He  spearheaded the effort to raise the funds to replace the Concession Stand at the football stadium.  The campaign raised over $22,500.  The new concession stand is completed and is a testament to our partnership with Boys Town.  Phil is a Lifetime Member of the Boys Town National Alumni Association.

The Boys Town Food Service Department and staff have been tremendous supporters of the Alumni Association reunions for many, many years and are always ready to make sure that we are well fed and comfortable.  From the meals at the Visitor's Center and the Great Hall to the Farewell Picnic they are there to support us and our families with excellent food and service.  We greatly appreciate their support year in and year out.
