Robert C. "Bob" Stoffel, D '63, Former Staff, passed away on May 9, 2023 in Omaha, Nebraska. Lifetime Member.Bob passed away Tuesday May 9, 2023, after a battle with cancer. Bob was born October 20, 1949, at St. Catherine Hospital in Omaha Nebraska. Bob attended St. Cecilia and Boys Town Grade School graduating from Creighton Prep High School in 1967.
After attending UNO, Bob began his career at Boys Town in 1971. After 45 years of service Bob retired as Associate Vice President of Information Technology in 2016. Bob loved Boys Town and served as Booster Club Secretary for 15 years and President for four. Bob joined the Army Reserves in 1972 and retired in 1981. He was elected as Honorary National President of the Boys Town National Alumni Association and served in that position from 2007 - 2009.

After marrying his wife Pam on January 8, 1972, he spent his lifetime loving his family, friends, and watching his beloved Chicago Bears. Bob was an avid reader, history buff and fisherman. He loved spending time each summer on Leech Lake in Northern Minnesota.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Mitt and MaryEllen; brothers, Jerry and Billy; brother-in-law, Don Chatterton. Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pam; sons: Matt (Deanna), Bill (Jill), Nick (Stacey), Joe (Sarah), and Pat; daughters, Amanda Perry (Brad) and Sarah; brothers: Joe (Jill), John (Mary), Tom (Kelly); sisters: Joanie Sindelar (Stan), Sharon Chatterton, Barb Walsh (Tom), and Kathy Driscoll (Neil); 14 grandchildren; 14 nephews; 18 nieces; 26 grand-nephews; 41 grand-nieces and one great-grand-niece.
Visitation: Sunday May 14, 2023, 5:00pm-7:00pm. Vigil service to follow at West Center Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial: Monday May 15, 2023, 11:15am St. Cecilia Cathedral. Interment with Military Rites: Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bob’s grandchildren’s educational fund.
