obit_michael_munn_600x800Michael Farrell Munn, '63, passed away on April 24, 2013 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. 

Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Emmetsburg.  Michael "Mike" Farrell Munn of Omaha, NE passed away Thursday April 25, 2013 as the result of an auto accident.

Mike was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa September 26, 1945 to Robert W and Mary Elizabeth (Farrell) Munn. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Pat (Joan) Munn and a sister Kay Zelinski. He is survived by a sister Margaret (Emmet) Doyle of Royal, Iowa and a brother Edward "Ned" (Mary Ellen) Munn of Emmetsburg, Iowa and sister in law Joan Munn of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by two uncles Bob (Donna) Farrell and Jim Farrell and many nieces & nephews and extended family and friends.

Mike's early years were spent in Fort Dodge. He attended ILCC before he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1964. In his last tour at sea, Mike's ship recovered Apollo 8. He was a Vietnam veteran. After his discharge, Mike relocated to Omaha, Nebraska where he worked in commercial roofing until his untimely death. For many years, Mike owned his own roofing business. Mike was a volunteer at the VA and served as a sponsor for several veterans in recovery.
