Scott D. Rohrick, 60, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Tuesday afternoon, March 21, 2023, at MercyOne Oelwein Medical Center in Oelwein.
 

Scott Douglas Rohrick was born August 15, 1962, in Oelwein, the son of Ronald Lee and Connie Lee (Anderman) Rohrick.  In 1981, he received his GED from Kirkwood and then received his janitorial certificate from Kirkwood.  For several years he cleaned high pressure water air heater for Meylan Industrial in Omaha, Nebraska.  He later did construction work. Scott enjoyed dogs and motorcycles. He was a stubborn and hardheaded guy, who “fun fact” loved to bake, not just cakes but bread too.  Scott’s baking skills were learned when he was at Boys Town.  He liked to watch sports, particularly baseball and football.  Go Titans!  Scott even liked tossing out a fishing line too.  When he wasn’t watching sports, he couldn’t pass up a good western movie.
 

Scott is survived by his sister: Julie (Kent) Benskin of Orangeburg, South Carolina; 2 brothers: Christopher Rohrick of Oelwein and Jeffrey Rohrick of Oelwein; 7 nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Benskin, Abigail Benskin, Michael Rohrick, Ashley Rohrick, Nathaniel Rohrick, Josh Rohrick and Seth Rohrick; 10 great nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Lester Anderman and Betty Meska and Otto and Marie Rohrick; parents: Ronald and Connie Rohrick; step grandfather: Roger Meska; and a nephew: Jared Rohrick.
 

Visitation: 9:30 to 11:15 A.M. Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Graveside Service: 11:30 A.M. Friday, March 31, 2023, at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Dave Byrd officiating.  Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.  A Celebration of Life was held at the Oelwein American Legion Hall following the graveside services.
