Kevin John Gosserand, '69, passed away on December 23, 2022 in Independence, Missouri.
Dr. Kevin (COCO) John Gosserand, age 71, was born on February 28, 1951 in New Roads, LA to Landry Etienne Gosserand Sr. and Mary Pearl (Howard) Gosserand. He passed away on December 23, 2022 in Independence, Missouri.
Kevin is preceded in death by his son, Luke John Gosserand; parents, Landry and Mary; three brothers: Lester Gosserand, Phillip Gosserand, Pete Gosserand; and sister, Laura Gosserand.
He is survived and will be greatly missed by his daughter, Kasey Skye Gosserand (Chris Hanners); grandsons, Derek and Andrew Walz; sister, Betty Gosserand; brothers: Landry Gosserand Jr., John Linus Gosserand, Buck Gosserand, Danny Gosserand, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kevin is a lifetime member of The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception where he served as an altar boy and went to grade school. He attended high school at Father Flanagan's school for Boys (Boys Town) and later went on to attend St. Mary’s College. He spent his adult life working in the Kansas City area, first as a business owner. For many years he owned and operated K & G Maintenance and Construction before embarking on his second career as a teacher in the public school system.
Kevin enjoyed music – whether it was listening to and/or singing and playing his harmonica. He also had a love for learning and research with interests including everything from scientific studies to family genealogy. Kevin would help anyone in need and will be truly missed by those who know and love him.
