Robert Eugene Berry, D'63, passed away on October 23, 2022 in Topeka, Kansas.Robert E. Berry, 74, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022.
Bob was born July 25, 1948, in Lewiston, Idaho and grew up in Topeka. His mother taught him to trust Jesus and respect all people. He finished elementary school at Boys Town where he learned to be a better person.
Bob graduated from Paxico High School in 1966. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1969, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a talented musician and taught himself to play several instruments. Bob played the trumpet in his church and played Taps at many military funerals.
His work career included nursing and carpentry jobs.
Bob was part of a huge family and he loved all of them. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Berry and mother, Theresa Michaelis, a daughter Marci, son Bobby, two grandchildren and numerous family members.
Survivors include wife, Heather and son, Matthew, of the home. He is also survived by so many family members who loved him dearly.
Bob's final question to everyone is, “Are you absolutely sure where you will spend eternity?”
Funeral services, with military honors, will be scheduled after the first of next year.
