Preceded in death by parents, Mabel and Robert Newby; sisters: Eleanor Bielas, Goldie Miller and Wanda Newby; brothers, Robert Newby and Harvey Newby. Survived by daughter, Tiffany Newby; grandson, Nicholas Hollman; sisters: Bonnie Osborn, Charlotte Rose and Shirley Belcher;  brothers, Delbert Newby (Mary) and Thomas Newby (Joyce); nieces and nephews.
 

In Fred’s adult years he served in the United States Army, worked in management for the Woolworth accompany, worked as a resident counselor at Boys Town Nebraska and thereafter made a career of interior design. He studied for design during his working years at Boys Town, and eventually worked as a designer for the United States Air Force, retiring as their Chief of Interior Design.
 

Fred will be honored at a private memorial service in September at the Omaha National Cemetery.
 

Fred will be remembered by all who knew and loved him for his kind heart, good nature and ability to create beauty in any space around him.
