PETER STEVEN KOZAK 1946 – 2022  |  Peter Steven Kozak age 76 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Peter was born on June 19, 1946 to John Kozak Sr. and Maria (Polowska) Kozak in Salzburg, Austria. He moved to the United States to Omaha, NE on December 22, 1950. He was raised and schooled in Omaha and he graduated from Boys Town High School with the Class of 1964. He was drafted by the U.S. Army and he proudly served his country for two years during the Vietnam War from 1966 until 1968. After serving his country Peter returned to Omaha. He met and later married Renate Lier in 1970 in Omaha. Peter worked as Diesel Refrigeration Mechanic and in 2003 he moved to Plattsmouth.

He was a member of Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 in Plattsmouth.

Peter is survived by his daughter: Tammy S. Kozak of Omaha, NE; two sons: Timothy P. Kozak and his wife Nicole of Plattsmouth, NE; Tracey Kozak Sr. and his wife Natalie of Plattsmouth, NE; nine grandchildren: Ashley Renshaw, Elizabeth Hadraba and her husband Jordan, Timothy Kozak, Logan Kozak, Frederick Karnes Jr. and his wife Alix, Drew Karnes and his wife Brianna, Tracey Kozak Jr., and Jozlynne Kozak; five great grandchildren: Landyn, Savannah, Luna, Aria, and Everleigh; three brothers: John Kozak Jr. of Omaha, NE; Wesley “Wes” Kozak of Omaha, NE; Michael Kozak of Omaha, NE; two sisters: Maria Kozak of Omaha, NE; Stephanie Massie and husband Michael of Council Bluffs, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John Sr. and Maria Kozak, his twin brother: Steven Kozak, and his granddaughter: Heidi Kozak.
A Memorial Service, that is open to the public will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth with Pastor Michael McGregor officiating.
His Final Resting Place will be at Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha, NE.
