Antawon was born on August 23rd, 1972, at Bethesda Oak Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. He left us tragically on July 21st, 2022, in High Point, NC.

He led a life of fun during his earlier years and was sent to and graduated from Boys Town High School in Boys Town, NE focusing on vocal music. This led him to Doane College where he majored in Vocal Music. Antawon's life has always been about song. There was not a time or situation that he could not reference a song with it. I always felt that he loved music more than me, but he told me "Beck music is my wife, and you are my mistress." He made friends everywhere he went and never knew a stranger. When he would sing people would just follow. There was not a band he joined that did not severely benefit from him being part. Life to him was a party and he lived it to the fullest. He was my life, the other half of my soul, and I will forever be lost without him.

He leaves bereft wife Rebecca Ingram (Reinersman), children Michael Reinersman, Taylor Ingram, and Maya Ingram. His mother Joanne Ingram predeceased him, but his father Elmore Morris III is still with us. His sister Shana Ingram, nephews Zaire and Jackson, His Aunts Brenda Morris, Jan Morris, Gladys O`neal, Jacqueline Larkin and Sharon Ingram (Greg). Uncles Greg Ingram, Reggie Morris, and Donald Howard. A multitude of cousins and last but certainly not least his Grandmother Lillian Watson.

His grandmother Berniece Morris and Grandfather Rev. Elmore Morris Jr have also predeceased him.

For me I never thought I would be writing this obituary. To really encapsulate my feeling and emotion I will reference the poem Funeral Blues by W.H. Auden:

W.H. Auden Funeral Blues
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let airplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East, and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one:
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods:
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

There will be a celebration commemorating Antawon's contribution to local music. On August 21, 2022, several bands playedg at the Deck 118 E Main St, Jamestown, NC. The event was called Antawonpalooza and started at 1pm.
