Daniel Michael Garza, '65 passed away on December 21, 2015 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Lifetime Member.

obit_daniel_garza_600x800Daniel Michael Garza, 68, of Lincoln, passed away, Monday, December 21, 2015, surrounded by his family.

Daniel was born June 3, 1947, in San Francisco, Calif. to Louis and Nora (Lusero) Garza. He graduated from Boys Town in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 until 1968.

On July 30, 1971, he married his wife of 45 years Paula. Daniel was employed by the United States Postal Service for many years until his retirement in 2013. He enjoyed walking hand and hand with Paula, while walking their dog, Baxter. He also loved visiting his son, Jeff and daughter-in-law, Nga, and being entertained by his grandchildren.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Paula; son, Jeffrey and his wife, Nga of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two grandchildren, Matiana and Micah; his sister, Nora of Rockledge, Fla.; brothers, Ynnocenio (Al) Garza of Grand Island, Gabriel Garza of Austin, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Nora, and his brother, Louis. A celebration of life service, burial and reception was held at 10 am, Wednesday, December 30, at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln. Reverend Roy Miller officiated. Friends joined the family directly after the burial.
