Neil R. Olson, formerly of Fargo, ND, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Neil was born on August 26, 1946, in  Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Raymond and Adrienne (Daigle) Olson. He immigrated to and was raised in Fargo with his five siblings and had a strong interest in music from a young age.
 

He pursued his love of playing drums which began in Fargo with bands Stevie and the Shades, The Treasures, Fragile Zookeeper and a short stint with The Everly Brothers. Then he moved to California and became a member of Jumbo, a popular L.A. band signed by A&M Records. Neil married Deborah Schmidt in 1967 and together they had a son, Christopher. He enjoyed traveling the country, playing in various rock and Christian bands and will be remembered for his one-of-a-kind personality and the joy he brought to others.
 

Neil is survived by his son Christopher, siblings Steven (Debbie), Cheryl, William (Sharon), Todd (Julie), and his nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Franklin.
 

A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 5, at 1:00 p.m. at Hawley Alliance Church, Hawley, MN.
