Wesley J. Davis, Jr., '63, passed away on April 17, 2005 in Mesa, Arizona.
Mesa, Arizona - Wesley J. Davis Jr., 60, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Dubuque, Iowa, died Monday, October 17, 2005, at his home after an extended illness.
Services will be 6 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider & Kitchen Funderal Home, 3869 Asbury Road, Dubuque, Iowa. Visitation is noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born February 8, 1945, in Dubuque, to Wesley Sr. and Ruth (Mills) Davis. Wesley was the oldest of 15. He graduated from Boys Town in 1963. He was a medic in the Air Force in 1963-1967. In his early years he was a Realtor in Dubuque. He later was employed by McDonald-Douglas and retired from Boeing in 2001. He enjoyed playing poker, fishing and traveling.
Wesley was direct, and told it like it was, but he was a truly loving and caring person, who will be deeply missed by four daughters, Tonya (Mike) Garnica, Davenport, Tara (Oscar) Diaz, Mesa, Arizona, Trisha (Dan) Turner, Davenport, and Toni (Adam) Miller, Davenport;, two sons, Wesley J. Davis III, Mesa, Arizona and Troy Davis, Mesa, Arizona; 14 grandchildren and one on the way; his mother, Ruth Davis, Scheryl, Iowa; and 14 brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Davis Sr., on January 9, 1989.
