When Alvin Edward Paine was born on March 8, 1925, in Williston, North Dakota, his father, Earl, was 40 and his mother, Laura, was 36. His mother died while he was young and Earl went onto remarry.

Alvin married Inez Eleanor Anderson on February 19, 1949. They had two children, Donna and Susan Laura during their marriage. He worked the railroad before heading off for WWll with the Army. His was a sole survivor of his unit. While he healed up overseas he was General Patton's driver. After the war he went on to do construction but his injuries during the war took their toll and he went on disability.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Santa Ynez Elks, visiting with family and spoiling me (his only grand daughter). He and Inez settled in Oregon and we soon lost my beloved grandmother Inez to a heart attack. Alvin re-connected with his first love Neva and they had a short marriage later in his life. Alvin then moved to Montana where he met Betty Luce and they lived out her life and eventually his. They would "snowbird" in Parker Arizona and on one of these trips is where he succumbed to his fight against lung and stomach cancer.

He died on November 17, 2015, in Parker, Arizona, at the age of 90. He was heart broken when he lost his daughter Susan five months before hand and just gave up his fight. He is greatly missed!
