Richard "Rick" Thomas Durrett, Nashville - Age 75, died October 6, 2020, at Southern Hills Hospital.

He was a 1963 graduate of Boys Town in Nebraska. He worked as a musician, playing piano for more than 50 years with performers and recording artists, such as Coven, Yancey Street Gang, Pacific Gas & Electric, The Olivers, The Cardboard Bachs, Odetta, Crystal Gayle and Johnny Rodriguez, among numerous others. He toured the world and made countless recordings, earning RIAA Platinum Record for his work on Crystal Gayle's album "When I Dream." He performed at George H. W. Bush's Black Tie & Boots Inauguration Ball.

Rick was devoted to his craft, he loved laughing and his three children, Mark Carson Durrett (deceased), Majken Blair Durrett of Nashville, and Clinton Dawson Durrett of New Orleans. He is survived by Majken and Clinton, along with three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and two siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Mark, and his brother, Patrick. Funeral services will take place at the chapel of The Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. S. B. Price officiating. Burial services will be private for immediate family members and close friends at a later date. Flowers can be sent to the church or donations can be made in his name to Alcoholics Anonymous.
