Dale Calvin Curtis, 85, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 in Mobile, Alabama.

Dale was born to Boyd Curtis and Melba Bryant on December 23, 1934 in Haleyville, Oklahoma. He joined the United States Air Force when he was seventeen, and devoted his life to serving his country. Dale served in Vietnam and various other countries before retiring from Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV, after 41 years of service as a USAF Firefighter. Dale was a 32 degree Mason with a number of Lodges in Las Vegas spanning fifty years.

He was a devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Curtis; sisters, Pat Smith and Polly Hibbard; and brother, Gary Curtis. Dale is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 14 years, Alma Thomas Curtis; three children, Sandra Kay Cooper (Justin H.), Robert Curtis, and John “Johnny” Boyd Curtis; two grandchildren, Nathan H. Cooper and Racheal Anne Ross, Esq.; step-granddaughter, Justine Salas; his two beloved canine companions, Suzi and Mendi; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Entombment was in Pine Crest Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lifegate Ministry at Christ United Methodist Church.
